📌 By using LuggageParty, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform. These terms form a binding legal agreement between you and LuggageParty.
✅ 1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering, accessing, or using LuggageParty ("the Platform," "we," "us"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
These terms apply to all users including travellers, senders, and visitors. You must be at least 18 years old to use this platform.
🌐 2. The Platform
LuggageParty is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects:
- Travellers — individuals with spare luggage space on international trips
- Senders — individuals who need items delivered internationally
LuggageParty acts as an intermediary platform only. We are not a courier service, freight forwarder, or logistics company. We do not take physical possession of any items.
✅ LuggageParty holds payments in escrow to protect both parties until delivery is confirmed.
👤 3. User Accounts
Registration
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
- You may not share your account or create multiple accounts
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Verification
- Travellers must complete identity verification before accepting shipments
- We may request additional documents for high-value deliveries
- Providing false documents will result in immediate permanent ban
- Senders must also complete full identity verification before sending any item — a shipment cannot proceed unless both the sender and the traveller are fully verified
- Verification documents (NID, Passport, Face ID photos) are kept for as long as your account is active, and for 7 months after your account is deleted or deactivated, in case they are needed for a legal or dispute-related matter — after which they are permanently deleted
✈️ 4. Traveller Responsibilities
As a traveller on LuggageParty, you agree to:
- Only accept items you have personally inspected and verified
- Declare all carried items accurately at customs
- Never carry items on behalf of strangers not on the platform
- Ensure items comply with airline, customs, and destination country regulations
- Deliver items safely and on time as agreed
- Provide the delivery OTP confirmation to release payment
- Be solely responsible for any customs duties or fines incurred
- Carry the item only in checked (hold) baggage that is checked in with the airline — never in hand/cabin baggage. This ensures the item passes standard security and customs screening, avoids cabin size/liquid restrictions, and keeps the shipment eligible for our protections below
- Thoroughly inspect the item together with the sender at handover and confirm it matches the declared description before accepting it
- Take clear photographs of the item and its packaging at the moment of pickup from the sender, and again at the moment of delivery to the receiver, and keep these as proof
- Personally carry, transport, and deliver the item yourself — the shipment must be handled by the same verified individual who passed identity verification on this account, and may not be carried or delivered by anyone else (including family members or friends) using your account
🔍 If it is found that someone other than the verified account holder carried or delivered a shipment, LuggageParty reviews the matter on a case-by-case basis, which may result in a warning, suspension, or permanent termination of the account (see Section 11, Termination).
📸 Pickup and delivery photos are kept for 7 months after the shipment is completed, in case they are needed to resolve a dispute or legal matter, after which they are permanently deleted.
⚠️ You are personally responsible for knowing the import/export laws of your travel route. LuggageParty cannot be held liable for customs violations.
📸 Photos taken at pickup and delivery are the primary evidence used to resolve disputes. Travellers who cannot provide this proof may be found liable for a missing or damaged item.
📦 5. Sender Responsibilities
As a sender on LuggageParty, you agree to:
- Accurately describe all items — weight, value, contents, and category
- Only send items that are legal in both origin and destination countries
- Package items securely and appropriately
- Provide accurate receiver contact information
- Pay the agreed reward through the platform escrow system
- Not attempt to bypass platform payments with direct cash arrangements
- Release escrow payment promptly upon delivery confirmation
- If requested by the traveller, package the item in the traveller's presence so the contents can be verified before sealing
- Take clear photographs of the item and its packaging before handing it to the traveller, and keep these as proof of its condition at handover
🤝 6. Receiver Responsibilities
As a receiver on LuggageParty, you agree to:
- Inspect the item immediately upon receiving it from the traveller, before entering the delivery OTP
- Only enter the OTP once you are satisfied the item matches what was described and is undamaged — entering the OTP confirms delivery and releases payment to the traveller
- Report any issue (wrong item, damage, missing contents) immediately, before confirming with the OTP — issues raised after payment has been released are handled as a standard dispute (see Section 9) and are harder to resolve in your favour
- Keep the OTP private and share it with no one except at the moment of confirming receipt
- Provide accurate identity and contact details so the traveller can reach you to complete delivery
⚠️ Receivers who submit false or baseless complaints, unsupported by evidence, may have their access to LuggageParty restricted.
🚫 7. Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited on LuggageParty:
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or explosives
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances
- Counterfeit goods or pirated materials
- Hazardous materials (flammable, toxic, radioactive)
- Live animals or protected species
- Currency, negotiable instruments, or bearer bonds
- Human remains or biological specimens
- Pornographic materials
- Any item prohibited by origin, transit, or destination country law
🚫 Violation results in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement. Both sender and traveller are responsible for ensuring items are legal.
💰 8. Payments & Escrow
How it works
- Senders pay the reward into escrow when booking a traveller
- Funds are held securely until delivery is confirmed via OTP
- Upon confirmation, the traveller receives payment minus our platform fee
Platform Fee
- LuggageParty charges a 10% platform fee on each completed transaction
- Fees are deducted automatically before payout
Optional Insurance Add-on
- For items with a declared value of $150 or less, senders may add optional insurance at booking for 2% of the declared item value, paid alongside the platform fee
- For items with a declared value of over $150, insurance is mandatory at 5% of the declared item value — such shipments cannot be booked without it
- Coverage: loss, theft, or physical damage to the item while it is in the traveller's custody, from pickup until delivery to the receiver
- Not covered: prohibited items, items that were inadequately packaged by the sender, customs seizure, delays that do not result in loss, or damage that existed before handover (as shown in pickup photos)
- To claim: report the issue within 48 hours of the delivery date (see Section 9, Disputes) and provide the pickup/delivery photos along with any other evidence
- Claims are reviewed within 5 business days alongside the standard dispute process, and a valid claim is paid out up to the declared value of the item
Refunds
- Full refund if no traveller is matched within 7 days
- Full refund if traveller cancels before trip
- Disputed deliveries are reviewed by our team within 24 hours
Cancellation After Matching
- If a traveller cancels a trip after being matched with a sender, through no fault of the sender, the sender receives a full refund
- LuggageParty will prioritize finding the sender a new traveller on the same route as quickly as possible
- Travellers who repeatedly cancel after being matched may have their trust score reduced, which can affect their ability to be matched with future senders
- If a sender cancels a shipment after a traveller has already been matched, a cancellation fee is deducted from the refund and paid to the traveller as compensation for their time: no fee if cancelled more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup, 10% of the transaction value if cancelled 24–48 hours before pickup, and 25% if cancelled within 5 hours of pickup (treated as a last-minute cancellation)
Non-Return Protection (Sender Safety Net)
- If a traveller accepts an item from a sender but fails to deliver or return it, and this is confirmed through our dispute review process, LuggageParty may provide a discretionary goodwill subsidy of up to $300 USD toward the sender's loss
- This protection is available only to senders who have successfully completed a minimum of 5 prior shipments on the platform before the incident
- This benefit is limited to a maximum of once per sender per calendar year
🛡️ This Non-Return Protection is a discretionary goodwill measure, not an insurance policy or guarantee. It does not obligate LuggageParty to compensate the full value of any item, and is granted only after our standard dispute review process (see Section 9) and subject to eligibility above.
Late or Non-Fulfillment by Sender
- If a sender fails to hand over the agreed item to the traveller within the agreed timeframe, LuggageParty reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reduce the amount refunded or credited to that sender by between 30% and 70% of the relevant transaction value
- This decision is made solely by LuggageParty based on the circumstances of the delay, including any impact on the traveller's trip, and our decision is final
Force Majeure — Circumstances Beyond Control
- If a traveller or sender is unable to fulfil their commitment due to circumstances genuinely beyond their control — including flight cancellations, natural disasters, political unrest, visa or immigration issues, medical emergencies, or government-imposed travel restrictions — LuggageParty will take this into account before applying any penalty described above
- The affected user must notify LuggageParty and the other party as soon as reasonably possible, and provide supporting evidence (e.g. an airline cancellation notice, an official advisory, or medical documentation)
- Whether a penalty is waived, reduced, or still applied depends on the credibility and sufficiency of the evidence provided, and is decided at LuggageParty's sole discretion
- This does not remove a sender's right to a refund where a delivery ultimately cannot happen — see Refunds above
⚖️ 9. Disputes
If a dispute arises between a traveller and sender:
- Contact our support team within 48 hours of the delivery date
- Both parties must provide evidence (photos, messages, tracking)
- Our team will review and make a final decision within 5 business days
- LuggageParty's decision is final and binding
- If both parties file disputes against each other over the same shipment, LuggageParty reviews both claims together and resolves them at its sole discretion — there is no fixed rule of priority between the two
- If neither party can provide sufficiently clear evidence to support their claim, the outcome — including how any escrowed funds are handled — is decided entirely at LuggageParty's discretion, based on the overall circumstances of the case

⚠️ 10. Limitation of Liability
LuggageParty provides a platform to connect users. We are NOT liable for:
- Loss, damage, or theft of items during transit
- Customs seizure or legal consequences of prohibited items
- Disputes between users that cannot be resolved
- Inaccurate user-provided information
- Platform downtime or technical issues
- Any item carried or sent by a user who is not fully verified — full identity verification of both sender and traveller is mandatory before a shipment, and LuggageParty accepts no liability whatsoever for shipments involving an unverified account
Our maximum liability to any user shall not exceed the value of the transaction in dispute.
🚪 11. Termination
We may suspend or permanently ban any account that:
- Violates these Terms of Service
- Carries prohibited items
- Provides false identity or verification documents
- Engages in fraud, scams, or platform manipulation
- Has multiple disputes or consistently negative reviews
- Creates fake or duplicate accounts to self-refer, or otherwise fraudulently claims referral bonuses — any such bonus will be voided and the account(s) involved suspended
💳 If an account is permanently banned for violating these Terms, any funds held in that user's wallet or escrow at the time of termination are forfeited and will not be refunded.
You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
©️ 12. Content Ownership
You retain ownership of the content you create on LuggageParty, including reviews, messages, and photos. By posting content, you grant LuggageParty a licence to store, display, and use it for operating, protecting, and promoting the platform.
- Reviews you leave about another user remain part of that user's trust history and stay visible even if you later delete your own account — your name is then shown as "Former User" to balance this with your privacy
- We may use your messages, photos (e.g. pickup/delivery proof), and other content as evidence when reviewing a dispute
- We may feature positive reviews and testimonials in our marketing, including on our website and social media, and may lightly edit them for length or clarity without changing their meaning
- You confirm that any photo or content you upload is your own or that you have the right to use it, and does not infringe anyone else's copyright
🛡️ 13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold LuggageParty harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the platform — for example, sending a prohibited or counterfeit item, providing false information, or infringing someone else's rights.
🌍 14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through our internal process will be subject to the jurisdiction of Bangladeshi courts.
For international users, local consumer protection laws may also apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use LuggageParty after a change is posted means you accept the updated Terms.
